Where Does The Smile Lie? Poem by Piyush Dey

Where Does The Smile Lie?

When the dusk falls, the sun asks,
'O dear, where does the smile lie? '
'Smile lies, I say, where the sky
rejoice the rain in air,
smile lies, where the poor bites
the piece of the day,
smile lies, where the nightingale
sings the melody of a new dawn,
smile lies, where the peacock dances
by the kiss of the cloudburst,
smile lies, where the child cries,
smile lies, where the nations stand for peace,
smile lies, where the lovers meet and love,
smile lies, everywhere in the souls of
better tomorrow,
smile lies, in the lap of the gallant Universe'
