Where Could I Be Poem by Manonton Dalan

Where Could I Be

Sparkling embers at the mountaintop
A setting for the future fruitful crop
Slash and burn that's what it was
Weakened the foundation of soil's crust

Everlastings bloom to the edges;
freePick and wrap with a bark of pine tree
Looking the gorges where children play
Scramble to pick whatever you give away

A rosy cheeks girl with a baby on her back
Trying to sell a nice tribal rack
Rainbow garb, tattooed hand stretch for aid
Lincoln will get you a smile and a wave

Children came around tagging my shirt
Asking to have picture taken at worth
Shyly I walk away with their dismay
Down the manmade lake I ride a dingy
Eucalyptus trees still stood with pride
Lining up the ever beautiful roadside
