When Your Not Here With Me Poem by Scott Forster

When Your Not Here With Me

when im not with you the rain becomes a river
but doesn’t wash my tears away
the sky becomes a gallery with all my pain on display
hardship makes me climb a mountain for a minute of success
failure points the mirror my way
and flaws are picked out in the spotlights
energy becomes a broken drive
and all i was or knew has lived to die
the words i keep so close to me
they whisper in the wind of moments held in your arms
dead for all to see
but the distance floods the chamber like the open sea
and as i flail on the floor
Falling, i see the face of misery
when your not here with me
when your not here with me
when your not here with me.
how is a smile possible
when your a mile off heartache.

the glory of your skin is breathin' in
the glory of your skin is breathin' in
when your here with me.
