When you were born it was dawn,
A dawn in May, full of light and life to go on,
A world in green and colourful,
Laughing flowers and trees in bloom,
Formed in the palm of God’s own hand,
A small child with two eyes so bright,
You were indeed a wonderous sight,
That filled the world with so much delight!
