When You Be Ready I Will Then Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

When You Be Ready I Will Then

When you be ready I will then
Climb with you into
The clouds that bolster up the
Trousers of the high heavens
Immense:
There was a feeling, then an
Excitation
Then a stimulation,
Then of verse the fire
Lighted up wanton desire
Broke off
The parched and dust-clad rock struck
With the iron of the Poet-Seer
Pierced to the heart
The stubborn rock at last
Let out the verses and the notes and
Songs.
At last.
At last.
