When The Penny Drops. Poem by Holda Felix

When The Penny Drops.

When the penny drops.
Do we really get it?

Do we really understand what is to be seen?
Can you face the music?
Can you tell the time?
When the penny drops, in your mind...
It has gone past time to be 'just fine.'

When the penny drops?
That this person no longer loves you
But is biding their time
For the best time to...... (Breath)

When the penny has fallen to the ground!
Do you stoop to retrieve it as it is...?
So small - Yes, I know it takes a hundred pennies to make a pound.

When the penny
Drops
That you are
Not a part of their planned future
But a part of the strife.
That pains the deepest

When the penny drops
It has dropped from a height
It is not frightening
But I cannot believe it.

In there lies the problem.
