When Our Life Is Gone Poem by Linda Patino

When Our Life Is Gone

Like leaves swirling far and wide through the wind we cannot stay.
Slowly our life and unfinished dreams start to fade and fly away.

Sadly with no option our happiness and glory must come to an end.
No more love can we hold inside or will we ever send.

A tearful ghost through the clouds we will glide like a flowering in the mist.
Our rights and wrongs we will clearly read one by one on God’s written list.

Our feeble soul will face the hidden mystery of light into the promise land.
We travel back in time to where we once started from a grain of sand.

Our love for life we leave behind, our days of glory will all be gone.
Memories we once shared with loved ones can only be written into a song.

A single voice whispering words of peace grip our soul into silence as we depart.
With no more pain or suffering, in peace we go with the master of our heart.

We gently close our eyes and the light to eternity will pave the way.
Revelations from our life on earth with our family will forever stay.

People rummage through our life to reminisce the collection to our memories.
With tears and laughter they will recall the masquerade and mystery to our true life stories.
