When Night Comes

When the night comes
the shadows call your name
When the night comes
Nothing will be the same
When the night comes
Safety shall not be found
When the night comes
There shall be no solid ground
When the night comes
the innocent shall sleep
When the night comes
Secrets shall be kept
When the night comes
Promises shall be made
When the night comes
All trust shall be Betrayed
When the night comes
Shadows shall be freed
When the night comes
You shall pay for your Misdeeds

poet Helen Hunt Jackson

The month of carnival of all the year,

And spend whole seasons on a single day.
The spring-time holds her white and purple dear;
