When Mist Dew Heavy Comes Poem by Terence George Craddock

When Mist Dew Heavy Comes

mist dew heavy comes
down from my mountains
dripping mist bush wets
mist dew water carries
sight blankets smell seals
mist rain heavy comes
rolls in off sea waves
rolls across coastal shores
rolls into poet minds

fogs all thoughts
numbs all senses
with salt laden wonders
salt life breeze smells
life breathes shorelines
life breathes insights
life writes these shores
these my kiwi homelands
west coast mainlands
