When Lovers Battle Poem by William Blackman

When Lovers Battle

It begins with a friendly tug-of-war of words.
When someone dares to lay down a challenge.
One day in the future we'll stand face to face.
A perfect day for battle above is a cloudless sky.
Man and woman with skill, heart and desire.
Outdoor basketball court will be the place to be.
A devoted and loving couple set on a collision course.
The night before they dueled was a night of passion.
The morning light opens their eyes on opposite sides.
Time to lace them up and get in the right frame of mind.
Is it all fair in love and war for Alicia & William?
There will be a winner and a loser.
More than competitive spirit shall be awakened.
This is the lovers theme.
