When Love And I Met Poem by Lora Colon

When Love And I Met

Rating: 5.0

There is no doubt God was present
On that day you first took my hand,
Heaven released a thousand stars
That fell to the earth in a strand

A silver chain of glowing stars
United our hearts for all time,
The murmuring wind sang a poem,
While quaking trees swayed to the rhyme

A host of angels was listening
As we fervently pledged our love,
Our words floated, then came to rest
On wings of a heaven-bound dove

Suddenly, the heavens parted,
A portal revealed love's grand theme,
And on that night was realized
This poet's most wonderful dream

When I met love, there was no doubt,
We found joy no one could efface,
As we pledged our undying trust,
God was there to bequeath His grace
