WHEN LISTENING TO ‘RHAPSODY IN BLUE’



Who can say why this Music moves me so
Why it brings my soul to tears
Why it makes me feel there is a Beauty
Great beyond all dreams
And a wonder and joy in life
Which only music can reach?

Who can say why I hear in these sounds
My soul in some other dimension of longing
Some other world of Love
Great as the past lost
As my parents no longer here
As a time we listened to this together?

Who can say what this music means
And why I love it so and in its listening long for
All those I love-
Never to be here -
Always near- again.
