When Innocence Reigned Poem by Stanley Cooper

When Innocence Reigned

Rating: 5.0

Revisit my past
When innocence reigned
I knew it would last
This life so unstained

Life was so clear
No question of when
I didn’t know fear
My future was then

Since I’ve grown wiser
More in touch with what’s factual
I foresee through life’s visor
What in fact is more actual

My past has become
Fond events that just were
What memories flowed from
Now retentively blurred

Indeed I know exactly what you mean Stanley, and it makes me sad. the world is a 'mess' now full of trouble and strife. What has gone wrong.......Well! ! ! ! ! ! ! one could go on forever about that. I enjoyed this poem nicely produced. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
