Once upon a time
In another life, another place
I was a song
A fair lady sang me
She was walking all alone
In the dark
I felt it in her voice
Afraid she was
Of something she didn’t know
And some pain she couldn’t see
She couldn’t think of anything
But to sing
To sing me
Oh dear don’t worry
I told her tenderly
She never heard me
But she got it in my words
And heard it in my melody
More confident she became
and then...
she died, she died softly
I grieved I cried
My fair lady died
I was her last word
I was her last breath
her last breeze of freedom
but i was glad she went with pride
She has been running for hours and years
i heard her heart beat
Running away from some man
Running away from some world
running from a curse she couldn't defeat
I consolidate myself
Trying to remember
How happy she was
The last time she sang
Last time she was close
And the way she hang
To a moment of truth
Truth that brought peace
Lucky her
She had me
Lucky me
I was born
To make her
Secure
Her last moments
All she said
Was
Was…
Me.
