When I Became A Part Poem by Jesus Diaz Llorico

When I Became A Part

'For years I have not seen
a field so fresh and green
this place where I was born
such a beautiful morn

it took so many years
for me to come back here
like the rays of the moon
I missed the daily tunes

the sea so near my home
an ideal place to roam
in swift but tender grasp
a new love I hold in hand

the sparkling sea of blue
breathes a great life anew
the foam in coastal rocks
repeats just like a clock

now my heart cannot rest
even though I've been blest
for when I became a part
I stole somebody's heart.'
