When I Am Gone Poem by piumi wijenayake

When I Am Gone

When I am gone
I do not want you to be by my side,
I do not want you to cry,
It is useless of crying.

When I am gone,
I do not want you to stay by my side,
Without a wink of sleep,
I want you to be free from every burden

Now your mind should be at ease,
Now, you should brighten up,
Where I want you to stay beside me smiling,
Even though I would not be able to see.

I do not want you to weep,
I do not want you see you depressed,
I do not want you to be unhappy,
I do want you to be happy,

When I am gone

well one must hav esthetic sense to read such a meaningful poem :) its true that we know someone's value when he/she is gone and mourn but there is no use of it, because they're not going to come back.....instead, we can pray for them :) infact, we should keep our behaviour in such a way with our loved one that even if they die we don't need to repend over bad attitude towards them :) good write, keep up regards hira

Every expression of sadness in such death bed is not useful for the person and poet says the things in such clarity of mind and expression and nice to read it.
