When God Accepted Me Poem by RIC BASTASA

and then there was this
meeting
it was dusk yet
and the trees are still shadows
and He embraced me
and said that He accepts me
for whatever I am
There was nothing said about
having to change myself
or that I have to do something
or make up with
what I have not committed

It was the embrace that
I cannot forget
for it was warm and
sincere

I marked that day when
God accepted me as
I am
and that day has become
Forever

A day of Thanksgiving
A day of Love.
