When A Man Offers His Heart Poem by Lora Colon

When A Man Offers His Heart

Rating: 5.0

When a man says his heart is mine,
It means a seed of love has been sown,
For the harvest to be fruitful,
His heart has to be mine alone

The heart's but a receptacle
Wherein our love is guarded and kept,
Nurtured like a living bouquet
That another heart might accept

When a heart is offered in love
It becomes a gesture most profound,
Causing such a heavenly peace
That you no longer feel earthbound

When a man says he'll keep his heart,
To offer it would be fantasy,
He doesn't know the Language of Love,
He cannot speak it fluently

Hope and trust are given virtues,
With love, they always go hand in hand,
But love is a spell..... it's magic!
A romantic would understand

So if a man should say to you
His heart he will never give away,
Quicken your step, and don't look back.....
You'll know deep sorrow should you stay

When I Give You My Heart

I agree, unless you give your love fully you are not really giving your love. But from watching many people, I also believe much of the world is sadly closer to Brian's poem.

I know no one can make all people happy. Perhaps it is even true that in God's plan for the evolution of humans gradually through time with many different ancestors, that some men and women are actually genetically coded to only be able to really love one other person ever. I can intellectually see that even if I were completely, totally faithful to either of you, Darlene or Lora, for me to actually feel love for Lora (if I were married to Darlene) or Darlene (if I were married to Lora, would seem like a betrayal to the one I was married to. I really do not mean to be condescending here, to make either of you wrong, but it makes me sad too that you both feel that in my attempt to be basically honest with you about who I am, I prove myself unworthy of your love. Just in general, shouldn't a man who is completely honest be a better match than a man who hides his real nature to win your hearts. Who is in fact more likely to cheat on you in the future. But perhaps the answer is irrelevant. But if the honest man says that he will shun sexual involvement with another woman in spite of being sexually attracted to other women, isn't he to be trusted more than the man controls you by never letting you see him looking (living a lie perhaps every day) and secretly lusts continuously in his heart where you can't see. And yes I hear you saying now that you can see, but can you? I sincerely believe that if I were not so open with you, that it is possible that neither of you would ever know that I can have deep totally romantic feelings for other women and still be true to the one I am married to. (for many practical reasons as well, not to just avoid hurting you) .It makes me sad too, that again from my perspective, the two of you only feel safe in relationships where the men basiacally neuter themselves emotionally to become little Stepford husbands. Someone help me here. Isn't there some neutral ground somewhere that both men and women can both stand, accepting a little more risk perhaps, and not have to control (or lie to) each other to feel safe, to believe without iron clad guarantees that they in fact deserve to be loved? Just asking.

2 No longer will he bowl with " the guys" . 'Not'. " They" will join a Female-Male bowling league. His then EMPTY hammock will sit and ONLY rot; instead of LEISURE, he'll develop chronic FATIGUE, since she will drive him crazy, bursting ALL his bubbles. :) cont.

1 A Husband's Fate When a woman offers a man her 'heart', that man should beware...from the start. Her heart comes with 'strings attached' & and when, onto him, she has tightly-latched, his life will become a mountain of TROUBLES. cont.
