Whatever Joys Poem by Scott Hastie

Whatever Joys

Rating: 4.5

Whatever joys come our way,
The road ahead will be a hard one.
Your kinship though is precious,
Like sweet molasses,
Fuel for my journey.

Sometimes returning,
Battered and bruised I admit,
My basket full of
Fresh hewn promises,
Chiselled out and polished in hope.

And with all my dreams too
Of what could come true,
Of what my labours long to proffer you.

You know I give you my love, as best I can.

Together we live to the point of tears,
I wouldn't want it any other way.

Whatever Joys. This caught my attention. It is so filled with truths. Feels personal.

Scott, when I engage in your beautiful poetry I have the greatest sense of contentment and inspired enthusiasm to set down at my own keyboard and get creative. There is a profound sense of positive, emotional attachment to your words, a breath of fresh air not often found in the writings of our contemporaries. Your publications offer such a tremendous extension to this journey we share and your words have touched the heart and soul of many. For this you strive and so richly achieve.
