What Wrong Did We Do? Poem by Annmary Sebastian

What Wrong Did We Do?

Rating: 5.0

Chaos. it was chaos all around me
Wherever i looked
Whatever i thought of
Were filled and colored with blood
Even when wandering through the meadows
The red meadow, where i saw many dead ones
There came no tears out of my eyes
Why? Why didn't I cry?
I was frozen, inside and outside
I saw people screaming out loud
Searching and searching
I found my beloved one
Cold and pale and breathless.
The sight sent through my body
A molten scoop of lead
That burned all my cells...
My cells ached for the pain he suffered
What wrong did he do?
What crime did he commit?
Oh my love!
I hadn't lived enough with you
The sound of his laughter
Echoed in my ears
The sight of my sweetheart
With his arms open for me
Flashed through my mind
The thought of living in a world -
An atmosphere, where there would be
No air from him stung my heart
I writhed in pain
The thunder - like sound
That came out of a machine
Forced my head turn from his face
I saw them - eyes red, clenched teeth
One among them pointed
Their armed hand toward me
One tenth of a minute was all it took
What i saw, when my eyes closed forever
Was the sight of my blood leaving my body
And i lay beside my love
Cold and pale and breathless
What wrong did we do? ?
