What Siren-Song Arises Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

What Siren-Song Arises

Rating: 4.5

What siren-song arises
From the sweet silver bosom of the sea
By the three rocks?

No human eyes to watch
No human eyes to see

And yet
The elfin forms in dwindling shadows dance
And then
Of sudden the shadows grow
As in a trance.

What siren-song ariseth
From the weary sea, the funereal dirge
Of mariners lost and gone, perhaps?

What siren-song ariseth
This sad night, this endless seeming night
From the sweet silver bosom of the sea
By the three rocks?
