What's In A Poem? Poem by Macwolls Kay

What's In A Poem?

A poem is a picture seen through words
A jig-saw puzzle with a thousand pieces,
Every word and phrase distinctively defined.

A poem is a print, arche's and whorls
Uniquely crafted uniquely defined
A poets rhyme a poets print.

Some poems are simple, and say what you see
Some are laden with sorrow and make grown men cry
Some are sharp and cut deep to the bone.

Some are filled with humor a daily delight
Some are ambiguous to the untrained eye
A poets thoughts between the lines.

Some say one thing and yet mean another
A hidden code to a poets world
A poets life revealed in word.

Some speak of love and broken hearts
They tale of lovers reaching out,
Intimate thoughts intimate expressions.

Some speak loud and speak of vanquish,
Telling tales of the strong and the brave,
A story told in one thousand words.
