What People Think Poem by Brylei

What People Think

Sometimes I wonder what people think of me,
But then I realize I don't care.
All I want is to be free
From their judging and their stares.
So what if I'm not beautiful,
I'm not much to behold,
But behind this simple face is a mind and heart of gold.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I am not a very popular person in my school. My friends and I are considered strange, outcasts even. I feel like peoples' stares are always on us, and we had to learn to ignore them. We like being different, enjoy those strange looks others give us. This is for all of you who have ever felt cast out. Be proud of who you are. You are amazing! !
