What Nightmares Poem by Frankie Stamey

What Nightmares

The flowers grow knee high
underneath my window in moonlight
Dreams dance all around my bed
in the darkness of the night
Oh what a beautiful sight
Lovely dreams of me and you
when we were so in love
The kind thought
to come from above

Then the nightmare comes
My dreams turn blue
I remember that day
I walked away from you

I guess you already knew
I been away too long
It's time I come home
In the blue is where
I belong

Nightmares reoccurring
Definitely disturbing
Taking me back in time
Places I've already been
I never wanted to go again

It happened more than I care to admit
But now my life is too legit
Now I don't have them kind of fits

Reoccurring nightmares held at bay
By a new love I feel growing everyday
I know her name I'm proud to say
She gave it to me just the other day

Now you know I love you so
If you feel the same
Just tell me it's so

Tell me in dreams
Tell me in letters
Tell me in poems
Tell me in forms
Tell me at night
Tell me in the morn
Tell me in myspace
Or tell me to my face
Tell me at home
Tell me on the phone
Tell me on the cell

Or you can
just send me an e-mail
and tell me to go to hell
back to the nightmares in blue
It might break my heart
and tear it into
I might shed a tear or two million
maybe a gazillion tears of blue
before I'm through but
I will still love and respect you if you do
