What Is Truth? Poem by Granville Holt

What Is Truth?

To each his own and to each as needed?
Your truth, my truth? Common sense has turned blind.
Keep the people off balance with class hate.
This one has the answers so don’t listen
To another.

Once a child was told to think for themselves.
History of yesterday is not taught
From original sources, just book rants.
Mom and Dad are not to be believed now,
Follow your blog.

Find those like minded and be closed minded.
Do your work as you see fit, why bother
To seek advancement, it just leads to greed.
Employer and employee must not mix,
Keep your place.

If you wish to rise above the smoke of chaos
And breathe the thin air of independence
Show no weakness or kindness to strangers
Lock your doors, install motion sensor lights.
Don’t trust anyone, trust me!
