What Is Love? Poem by Aryn James

What Is Love?

Rating: 4.8

What is love?
Can anyone answer such a defining question?
The dictionary defines love as-
“Strong affection or liking for someone or something”
To me, that is not a passionate enough answer.

Love is beauty,
Love is a meadow of butterflies in the stomach
And sun in your soul.

Love is when you think of the person
And all of a sudden you can’t breath.
The passion you have for them stuns you
And your heart jumps with joy with just a thought about them.

Love is spontaneous.
You wake up one morning and can’t explain the feelings you have,
The feelings that just fluttered upon you out of no where,

But unfortunately love is sorrow,
Love is pain,
Love is a dark hole of emotions that drown you,

But if you are strong,
Free willed and willing to hurt,
You can conquer love.
Love will not conquer you!

um....its true....everything you said in this is true...and well put I must say. But in the last couple stanzas you said love isn't such a good thing. why? I know it is for most people. But does it have to be that way? Claude
