What Is Greed? Poem by Jeanette Telusma

What Is Greed?

Rating: 5.0

Greed is black in color.
It is selfish in every aspect.
It is normally one sided in nature.
It's glory is only for a moment.
It is like a deflating balloon.
It eventually catches up, watch.

Greed is dark.
It thinks only of itself.
It is very imbalanced.
It's happiness is fleeting.
It gets real small in size.
The seeds sown will soon reap a harvest.

Hi Jeanette, Sure, greed destroys peace and happiness: not only of the ones your greed targets, but your own happiness is also destroyed. Greed is what we remember Hitler for. Your own erstwhile president George Bush. A long list of Tsars, Mussolinis.... As an ancient poet in Malayalam (the language spoken by people of Kerala, India- it my mother tongue) has written: Greed for wealth and women has been the cause of all the wars: : Ancient Indian scripts say: : Tyena Tyaktena Bhunjeetha: Consume what is required to keep you alive. Do not indulge in food; applies equally to other desires as well. Very poignant write..A 100++

Sir Unnikrishnan, your valuable commentary is very rich and I will forever be grateful. Thank you and yes I agree, Hitler was the true essence of greed.
