What If God Is A Terrorist Poem by Ramona Thompson

What If God Is A Terrorist

Rewrite of Joan Osbourne's song, What If God Were One Of us

If God had a secret code name, what would it be
And would the F.B.I. be shocked if they searched his place
If somehow someone were to stumble upon his real story
What would the answer be if one of us dared to ask that question

And no, no God may not be so good
Yeah yeah God just might be up to no good
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
What would you do
What would you say
If it were true

Yeah, what if God is a terrorist
Out to destory all of us
Maybe makin' plans to blow up some unlucky bus
Declaring Jihad on our not maybeso secure earthly home

If God were to step forward and show his true face, what would it look like
Would it strike fear from sea to shining sea
Would any dare to play dumb and disbelieve
Would the news rock our perfect idea of Heaven
Would Jesus be his deadly second in command
Sent to earth to divide and devastate us
Who would join in his unholy army of prophets

And no, no God may not be so good
Yeah yeah God just might be up to no good
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
What would you do
What would you say
If it were true

Yeah, what if God is a terrorist
Out to destory all of us
Maybe makin' plans to blow up some unlucky bus
Declaring Jihad on our not maybeso secure earthly home

Unholy declaring a Jihad on our maybe not so secure earthly home
A monster workin' maybe not alone
Callin' up on the phone
His co-conspirer
Possibly known better as the Pope in Rome

And no, no God may not be so good
Yeah yeah God just might be up to no good
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
What would you do
What would you say
If it were true

Yeah, what if God is a terrorist
Out to destory all of us
Maybe makin' plans to blow up some unlucky bus
Declaring Jihad on our not maybeso secure earthly home

Unholy declaring a Jihad on our maybe not so secure earthly home
Someday maybe gonna roll on us like a heavy stone
A monster workin' maybe not alone
Callin' up on the phone
His co-conspirer
Possibly known better as the Pope in Rome
