What If Christ Was Not

What if God's Lamb was never sent?
If God came not as man
If sinners weren't able to repent
As part of Heaven's plan

Beginning in Eden's Garden
At God's forbidden tree
If God would grant no one pardon
Would mean hell's flames for me

You too would not escape my friend
No freedom could be yours
No Saviour would your life defend
Before hell's open doors

Thank God this is all conjecture
To open sinners eyes
To see as a warning lecture
Before in shame one dies

How glad am I of this warning
The state I would be in
Ere facing life's final dawning
Festooned in wanton sin

So friend, please heed well my story
The facts I've had to share
The truth of my King of Glory
Here and everywhere

Take a moment to offer prayer
In faith your heart reveal
Know well, The Lord Christ will be there
To hear your soul's appeal

For sure life's Saviour is waiting
Just as He was for me
Speak truthful anticipating
Jesus will set you free.....
