What If Poem by Katelin Taylor

What If

What if every Christian started doing
All the things our Bible says to do?
Helping others come to know our Savior
And loving all our fellow Christians too?

What if, instead of hating fellow sinners
We realized that we too are only men?
That at one time we just like them were hell-bound
And only found hope in the Son of Man?

What if we treated all our fellow Christians
As if we're all the same in heaven's eyes?
Instead of looking down upon each other
Because of clothing, school, or empty lies?

What if - this is crazy - in our churches
We ceased the gossip, backbiting and hate?
What if we stopped pretending that we're perfect
For friends, we're headed all for the same fate!

I don't see why, my brethren, we are fighting
Against each other just like common foes.
What would happen in this world, I wonder
If we bit no more at one another's toes?

I'm not sure who first pitched the damned* idea
That one is better than a fellow man
That doesn't matter - all that does is STOP IT!
You're hindering the work of God's dear hand.

Hello Katelin. Sounds like you have had a bad experience. Not all Christian or churches are like that, I know sadly, some are. Good message. Please visit my work when you can. Loyd
