What I See Before Me Poem by Tomás Ó Cárthaigh

What I See Before Me

What I see before me as I look around,
At where there is nobody and nothing
I see peace, I see heaven, in the tranquility,
As a chorus of songbirds start to sing.

At another time, such a scene I see,
I would find it distressing, feeling alone,
For what we see, we see not as it is,
But rather how we feel on our own.
