What I Hope Poem by Dee Corpolongo

I hope that as you slept tonight
You dreamt of me with sheer delight
and when your eyes had opened wide
you had wished that I was by your side
I hope that as your new day did start
you kept me close within your heart
and as each thought passed in your head
you suddenly thought of me instead
and as the day slowly crept on by
you thought of me with a longing sigh
and when the day turns into night
I'll be in your dreams until the morning light
