What Dream May Come Poem by Richard Noggin

What Dream May Come

I am sorry there needs to be one last letter from me
I know deep in your heart you could really care less
No need to be ashamed
I have learned in the last six months
What took you perhaps two years to learn
That I am no good
The truth hurts I guess
At least I can stop looking now
I love you and I am truly sorry that I hurt you
I pray that you are happy
I know that I will never be
I have tried to run from my depression
But eventually death wins
I don’t know if it will come today or tomorrow
I am tired of living with this fear
There is no relief
There will be no more letters
No more poems from me
Be assured that I will always live with you in spirit
I am only sorry I could not be with you in this life
Be the man to fulfill you
Be the man you needed
May your life have a story book ending
I am destined to live an Irish Tragedy
