Welcome Some Desires Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Welcome Some Desires

Rating: 4.3

Always I wanted
To have one of this
I have it now
I look for one more.

Two I have
Then it's three
And more and more
Someone else got more.

Desires build up
At insatiable rate
Satisfaction diminished
At every step.

It's just human
To have desires
But it's not wise
To be guided by them.

Lead a simple life
Note needs of others
And develop compassion
To invite happiness.

Welcome always
Desire for peace
Desire to help others
And attain success.

Desire piled upon desire for worldly gains will lead to dissatisfaction and disquietude of mind! We have to limit such desires and sublimate them with desire for human happiness! A great message in a simple fine poem!
