Welcome Peace Poem by Cindy Thacher

We are singing once again
'Peace on earth, good will to men'
as our troops return from Iraq,
rejoicing to be back
home, free of war and death,
thankful for every breath.

And we welcome a Prince of Peace
hoping now all wars will cease,
as we sleep through silent nights
with many twinkling stars bright,
keeping our hearts filled with joy
trusting no more weapons to deploy.

As Earth receives her newborn king
and we continue to joyfully sing
'Peace on earth, good will to men'
let's not forget those who have been
off to war for our timeless peace
wishing wars will forever cease.

Joy to the world, welcome Peace.
