Weight Of The World Poem by Bryan Seyffert

Weight Of The World

Life raging like the angry sea

Wave after wave crashing over me

Weight bound to my hands and feet

I struggle but my sin, I just can't defeat

I hear a voice calling out my name

I know this voice, always the same

Bending my ear with worldly pleasures

Pulling me further from heavenly treasures

I try to ignore it but I just cant fight

I know it's the snake who brings only plight

Days, weeks, months the struggle continues

Trying to fight the sin born within you

There is a name that calms this sea

Freeing me from the waves of the enemy

Unbinding me from the weight of sin

Allowing me, by grace to live again

His voice there as well through all my bouts

A gentle voice with no need to shout

I could have heard it, the voice that cares

If when life got rough, I dropped to my knees in prayer
