Webs To Unwind Poem by Andrus Cassian

Webs To Unwind

Let me sleep, let me take a few winks
I apologize but silence bores me while people ignore me
I might as well be dust in the wind to them
or a ghost in a shell
can you hear my ghostly yell
can't you tell that I'm haunted, a little distraught and
are you able to see straight through me
These webs that spin, cocooning me
as well as the world
disturbs me
I struggle to find my purpose
is it really worth it
This is a messed up place
why should I bother to find where I land
this is a place I cannot stand
And it seems I'm made of glass
I break easy
I check the mirror constantly
just to see if I'm human
to see if my skin isn't porcelain
or maybe a cyborg in disguise
Maybe I just need to fall asleep for awhile
and hopefully convert these inaudible questions
into a solved puzzle
so I can live, so I can learn
So let me close my eyes, sleep for awhile
and untangle these webs to unwind
these long lines of compromise
