Weather Or Not *pun* Poem by Natalia McGill

Weather Or Not *pun*

The sky, illuminated with the quick blue flash of light,
and the thunder claps and the dark clouds roll, and day turns to night,
the clouds collide and twist and form,
I think, I prepare, for the oncoming storm,

The rain falls quick and hard, from the mass sea of darkened clouds,
I cover my ears and eyes, because lightning so bright, and thunder so loud,
I head for the cellar, bolt shut the door,
I sit there, with blankets on the cold cement floor,

Why must we endure this, my children in fright,
All i can say is, everything's going to be alright,
I hear the commotion, from under the ground,
There is so much noise, and then not a sound,

I step outside into this mess of a town,
Everything, everywhere, is all torn down,
The sky is now light, the sun shimmers in
It reflects off of rain drops, and heats up my skin,

I walk around now seeing the damage that's done,
I look all around, and I see, mother nature has won,
I cry silently with the others, seeing our wrecked community,
and I thought, that with us, and with god, there would be some immunity,

I was wrong, things happen, things change, and only time can ease our pain,
our losses are lost, and our posessions, we now posses,
so live with what you have, and clean up our worlds mess.
