We Were There Poem by Vera Sidhwa

We Were There

Rating: 4.5

We Were There

When you needed us,
We were there.
I made sure that we showed you,
That we loved you.

You two were my precious children.
You were the ones who were the sunshine.
I remember when you first ran.
I remember when you first sang.

Your school books in your hand.
You playing with sandbox sand.
I kissed you both when you smiled.
Your kisses back made me smile.

I know you're all grown,
And I know we were there for you.
You are so beautiful and tall now,
And we adorably love you.
