We Try Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

We Try

Rating: 5.0

Ever since, you came into my life
Whirlwinds have blown through
I want you to come back
Yet please, stay away
You build me up so high
Constructing up
Tearing down
Crashing the fall stuns my soul
Befuddled my hearts unsure
Pain of holding love
Envy when its elsewhere
Tis the painful regret
When its here with me
Stonewalls hit, when you are away
Love so close to hate
Such a fine indefinable line
Balance so difficult
Traversing impossible
Yet we try
Falling time and again
Better, we try, rather than stagnate
