We Ourselves Are Disgraced - Poem by gajanan mishra

Only for wealth, more wealth
Alas, wealth is bigger than us.

We ourselves are disgraced
Because of worldly goods
Alas, we are smaller than worldly goods.

We ourselves are disgraced
Because of perversion of intellect
Alas, we are small we are slave we are in lowliness.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Because of lack of proper education we are slave to worldly goods.
