We Need The Rain Poem by Gail Grierson

We Need The Rain

The rain came to an end today,
Sun was in my eyes;
I had to put sunglasses on,
Not to my surprise.

Birds are singing, people happy
With the change in weather;
Outdoor sports and picnics planned,
A chance to get together.

We need the rain, but love the sun,
Spirits rise in many ways;
Children smile and flowers bloom
On warm and sunny days.

The sky is blue, the grass is green,
Nature’s beauty all around;
So when the rain again comes down,
We’ll appreciate the sound.

Without the rain the grass turns brown,
It’s too dry, we all complain;
But soon the clouds will come again
To bring the needed rain.
