We Must Revive Our Dead Now Poem by Hebert Logerie

We Must Revive Our Dead Now

We need to revive our dead now
So they can get their justice
It is often said that the dead are wrong
They died for one reason or another.

Some of the living are already dead
‘Cause they have no clue and no opinion
They're afraid to express themselves, they're not strong
And they play games, joke and politicize.

Some of the dead are more alive
Than the cowards who live in fear
They tolerate criminals and tyrants
And they glance at you hypocritically and with amazement.

We need to wake-up the dead today
We need to bury the living with the silent lips
Those who never exhibit remorse
For having done zip to save the baby girls.

Some of the dead are not dead
African legends led us to believe
That the blood of the dead is flowing in our veins
And their spirits are in the air and in our guts.

We need to resurrect our dead today
So they will finally get their justice
We must awake the living who're inebriated
Under the influence of a loaded ganja.

Justice is expensive and is swelled in high priced smokes
We must suffocate the senseless expressions,
The vain arguments and the bombastic words
Our people deserve better; they're too good, loyal, and patient.
