We Move Through Time and Space

We are growing among subliminal signs
Dodging contact and saving time
I don’t like the world outside
Let me just lie by your side

Chest to chest
Eye to eye
This is how we kill time

I’m ready but I’m scared to say goodbye
Time to kill the questions and wondering why
You are here
You are gone
That’s just life.

poet Henry Lawson

The old year went, and the new returned, in the withering weeks of drought,
The cheque was spent that the shearer earned,
