We Love Him Poem by Doris Clore Demaree

We Love Him

Children scampered down the street
To talk with Jesus-sit at his feet.
But older people made a crowd
And said the children were not allowed.
When Jesus heard such nonsense talk
He started on a little walk
And called the children, 'Come to me.
First one here sits on my knee.'
How the children laughed and ran.
Each said, 'I'll be first if I can!'
They loved him so.
We love him too.
