We Live Once And Die Once Poem by Shalom Freedman

We Live Once And Die Once

WE LIVE ONCE

We live once
And die once-
It is no use pretending
We can stretch it to forever-
Most of us are dead
In what we could do
Long before we die.

We live once
For many it is already too long-
Those who want to live forever
Can try-

Considering the pain the difficulty the loss of powers the long Uselessness of extended old age
Most of us will die when we die
And leave living forever to the delusionists-
