We Hope You Stay But If You Go Poem by Damian Cranney

We Hope You Stay But If You Go

Impassioned pleas seem not of merit,
When un-conjoined with sincere grace,
Scotland will always have, its culture to inherit,
Joined with britain, in brotherhood and race.

Do not go into the darkness,
Without at least some taper light,
Boldness makes you brave and fearless,
But is not a shield, when you have to fight.

Let us march together,
Away from the dark unknown,
Strength in unison is safer,
Unless you're in the tomb,
Let not those, who would divide us,
Win, when the race, is almost won.

People split by nationalist fervour,
Foment the hate, of racial pride,
That is a darker place to vote for,
Don't end up on the devils side.

What if you do? we'll wave goodbye,
Not in anger, but in sorrow,
But once you're gone, I will not lie,
We will carry on into a new tomorrow,
With the freedom our own path to follow.
