We Do And We Don'T, We Can But We Won'T Poem by Dominique Brown

We Do And We Don'T, We Can But We Won'T

Mouths open
but speaking
Are the stone cold eyes
of society.
But if they are us and we
are them
Then who exactly are
we?
Who can pour liquid concrete
into minds
And still create a nation?
