We Decide Poem by Philip Mc Mahon

We Decide

Rating: 5.0

There is a saying that paper never refuses ink, but what if it could
There would be no evil written, there would be only good.
You would not get that letter that broke your heart
You would only get best wishes, when you were apart
The postman would have no bills to delivery to you
You would only have parcel and voting cards to do.
There would only be shares on your bank account
No mention of whatever you owed or the amount.
But it would not allow you to write down your foolish ideas and dreams
Because it would not realise it's not always what it seems.
It could not grasp the concept of not thinking at all
Just writing down words until you hit that wall.
There would be no place for the whimsical mind
To unleash all the stuff, that we might never find.
By paper not refusing to decide if it's wrong or its right
Will allow us to open our minds, to let in more light.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
'Paper never refuses ink' is just a remark I made one day to someone. They said it would be a great line in a poem, so I wrote one using it my way.

Free verse and freedom of the word, the ink helps us to allow the flow to come and go, I will post my one soon. With your sentence paper never refuses ink . Annette
