We Cry For Peace Poem by Bartholomew Arkoh Boamah Sarbah

We Cry For Peace

We have suffered long in silence
We the innocents of the land
Guns and bullets holds our rights
And death is hastened by hunger
As jackals and vultures await to eat our corpses

Your homes, Africa
Are turning into war camps
And we wander your streets as victims
With our eyes cast to the sky
Uncertain of our own destinies
Fear and sadness now fill our hearts
And our eyes can no longer hold back the tears
How do we the children of the land grow in unity
When our men women fight themselves
And we the grass suffer?

Screams echo from every corner of your walls
And guns bellow every moment
Your land is no longer safe for us
We sit by naked corpses daily
And eat the yield of our begging
In desolation and loneliness

Why should we the innocents suffer
From the adamancy of our leaders
It is peace we cry for Mother Africa
We the children of the land
With knees on your soil
Cry for peace upon the land.

Africa should follow the policies of indian spiritual leader-Mahatma Gandhi and at times when war comes be united following another military indian leader who not many people knows and is not much appraised by the British-Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. This man left 120,000 sterling pounds a year job for the freedom of nation.I doubt how many Africans have the guts to do that.Peace is something that emanates from within for the people. Not is an emblem of a messiah -christ which for black people most whites think christ likes blacks but loves whites.Anti-Semitism again using a name for blasphemy counts exercised for a racial supremacy or the want of white-washed world. This in human society can never be accepted and this is the sole reason coupled with greed that led to wars.Somebody has to take up the cudgel for Africa unless otherwise its too late for peace which Africans need to achieve through war for the sole value of peace affected with evil doers today.
